Since 1921, the Oak Park Art League has been developing artistic talent in our community through quality art education programs. Art classes and workshops in the OPAL studio are offered in a variety of mediums to students of all ages and abilities, from emerging to experienced artists.  Refer to the schedule below for upcoming classes and follow the link for expanded class descriptions and registration.

Oil Painting Principles & Technique | Instr:  Amalia Kouvalis - Explore color theory,light, texture, composition, transparency/impasto and the fundamentals of artistic expression

WEDNESDAY 10:00- 12:00 ADULTS Organic Abstractions | Instr: Stephanie Rose Bird - work from real life—still life and landscape, en plein air, to create Organic Abstractions CLASS INFO/REGISTRATION

When Composition Meets Color: Alla Prima Painting | Instr: Kathy Hirsh - Working from still life on a small canvas or board, students will develop skills in composition, brushwork, value and color-mixing  NOTE: 4 week class, no class held on March 14th
 
WEDNESDAY 4:30-6:00  KIDS 9-14 Thinking 3D | Instr: Carolyn McDonald - This introductory sculpture class will teach students the fundamentals of working in 3D with an array of materials and processes

Intermediate/Advanced Drawing Instr: Jesse Howard - Working from still life or live model, students will learn how to bring clarity and consistency to their subject matter
