Artists often need high quality photographs of their works for many purposes: for their portfolios, to submit to juried exhibitions, for publication in books, catalogs, cards or as digital prints. In this workshop, the artist will learn how to make professional quality photos of paintings, prints and drawings, and 3-dimensional works as well. Some of the topics covered include:
Professional photography of one work of art is included in the registration fee. Please bring a standard SD card for your image. For an additional fee of $10 per piece, Joe can photograph up to three works per artist. Post-processing services (cropping, straightening, and color correction) are available for an additional fee of $10 per image.
Instructor Joe Barabe is an OPAL Artist Member specializing in photography; he is also a professional photographer specializing in scientific imaging, and an art materials analyst. As an OPAL instructor, he teaches Digital Photography and related subjects. He is also an adjunct instructor for the Hooke College of Applied Sciences in Westmont, IL, where he teaches workshops in Artist Pigment Identification, Printing Process Identification, and Photomicrography and Scientific Imaging.
