Working Big with Mixed Media - February 22nd

About this event

Working Big with Mixed Media
Instructor: Jackie Lakely

Often we are excited and intimidated by a large blank surface to create on, and in this workshop we will go through a fun way to approach two larger pieces simultaneously, exploring various building blocks and techniques and tools to take full advantage of expressing ourselves on large surfaces and creating work that makes a big impact. Especially if you are also taking the Working Small in Mixed Media Workshop, the instructor will show you all the tools that work best in “scaling up” to larger work, including larger brushes, rollers, spreaders, knives, and bigger collage papers, image transfers, and papers for printing, along with compositional considerations and principles of value, color and loud and quiet conversations within a painting. There will be a demonstration of putting these tools and techniques to practice, and guidance from start to finish, along with plenty of working time for exploration and experimenting. Jackie will provide collage papers, and most of the large tools for you to try, and there is a list of basic supplies for each participant to bring.
