AGES 5-8
WEEK 1: JUNE 10-14      PUT GOOGLY EYES AND A TALE ON IT ! In this week long camp students will turn discarded materials into upcycled art. Fitting with the Art League gallery exhibition, "Mix Masters" students will create artwork from found objects including old photos, magazines, old paintings and use paint, markers and other mediums to turn them into new art!  Camp fee includes all art materials.. WEEK 2: JUNE 17-21  PUT GOOGLY EYES AND A TALE ON IT ! In this week long camp students will turn discarded materials into upcycled art. WEEK 3: JUNE 24-28 
 Feathers, Tails, Trunks and Scales - Session 1 | This summer for Animal Art Camp we will write stories and create a book about your favorite animal(s). We will learn techniques for drawing, painting and making animals out of clay. We will investigate interesting facts about animals, and incorporate these into our stories.       Register Here

WEEK 4: JULY 8-12 Artists Playhouse - Session 1 | Let's play! In this class we will enrich and focus children’s natural gift for dramatic and imaginative play using improvisation, theater games, and storytelling. We will create an original performance, design and make simple costumes and set decorations. Then, rather than asking young actors to memorize a script, we will (even in the final presentation) encourage them to retell the story using improvisation and their own words so they can be comfortable and “play” together on stage for an audience. WEEK 5: JULY 15-19 Artists Playhouse - Session 2 | Let's play! WEEK 6: JULY 22-26 Fairy Tales and Fiber Trails | Join “Fiber God-mother” Pam Penney as she takes you on a magical journey of fiber-art exploration!  We will learn a bit about the history of textiles and fibers, from ancient mystical tapestry to the wonders of  the large scale installations of Christo.  And then we will dye, spin, stitch and weave our own artistic wonders! Collaboration on courtyard installations and individual creations will both be encouraged. We will (literally) wrap everything up with a group exhibit on Friday morning to friends and family!

Chinese Brush Painting & More - Session 1 | Chinese brush painting plus another cultural art or craft will be introduced each day to delve into this centuries-old culture. Activities may include calligraphy, finger counting, book binding, paper cutting, paper folding, embroidery/sewing, Chinese knots, pottery or dumpling making; Chinese jump rope, tai chi and rhymes also.

Into the Mind's Eye: Surrealism and Yoga - Session 1 | Explore the worlds of surrealism and yoga in this fun-filled class! Incorporating movement, artwork viewing/discussion and art making as inspiration to energize our minds and bodies. Every class will begin with a brief yoga class to both center us and give us energy to create art. After having fun with movement we will slow down our bodies but keep working our minds to create a range of art projects including drawing, printmaking, and collage. No experience is necessary, all levels of yogi's and artists are welcome!

WEEK 5: JULY 15-19  Fiber-ism Fun | Students will explore different art expressions from Dada to Cubism, from Sculpture to Kinetics.  Then taking what they are most intrigued by, will explore fiber art as a means to express themselves.  We will learn fabric painting techniques, fiber dyeing, needle felting, stitch and more as a means for fiber art expression-ism!

WEEK 8: AUGUST 5-9 Mobiles and Wind Chimes | We will build a mobile or wind chime each day as we deal with form, balance and kinetic movement. Starting with linear forms, we will move on to creating more complex spatial planes and layers. A variety of materials will be used.
