Making Collage Papers - Saturday, Sept. 19th

Farmer's Market Watercolor - 2 DAY WORKSHOP
Instructor:  Jackie Lakely
Date/Time:  Saturday, September 10 & Sunday, September 11, 1:00-5:00pm
Location:  Oak Park Art League Studio
Class Fee:  $100

Sketch and paint gestural, loose, bright watercolors of the bounty of the Oak Park Farmer’s Market! We will study and paint fruits, vegetables and flowers, starting with gestural drawings and moving into longer form still life paintings, all the while making the most of this vibrant, lush medium. Students will be introduced to key ideas around creating a successful watercolor painting - color, composition, edges, techniques in achieving looseness and detail, and the importance of finding your own artistic voices. Jackie will bring fresh Farmer’s Market donuts and coffee for everyone to enjoy.

This workshop is for all levels but some previous experience is helpful. Students are responsible for bringing their own supplies, though a selection of Daniel Smith watercolors and 300 lb paper will be available for the class to explore, as Jackie explains the benefits of quality materials. These fine quality materials were a gift to OPAL by the family of Audrey Brown, a longtime Artist Member and watercolor instructor at OPAL for more than two decades.
