Learn to paint and play with technology in your art practice.

These days we have an opportunity to create art in so many ways. I work from both life and digital imagery. My process involves lots of oil paint, my phone, my iPad, many layers (both digital and real).  I’m interested in creating an image that has never existed.

Let me help you learn:
  • How to take good photo with the camera you have with you- usually your phone.
  • How to edit your photos: on the phone, on an iPad or a computer. How to combine photos and artwork.
  • Most important- how to not be a slave to your photos. The digital image is just a jumping off point for painting. The most important aspect of a painting is the composition. We will do numerous exercises to help you create a satisfying composition.
  • Our paintings can be on the iPad or on canvas.
  • And we can finish off the class with learning how to photograph our work.
