Oil Painting Principles & Technique - Mondays 6:30-9:00
Oil Painting Principles & Technique
Instructor:
Amalia Kouvalis
Material List - Kouvalis
This course is designed for students with a range of skills; great for beginners, as well as more experienced painters. Students will work with oil paint and explore the many ways it can be handled. The instructor will demonstrate various techniques exploring color theory, light, texture, composition, transparency/impasto, and the fundamentals of artistic expression. Students will be challenged to create a painting while thinking critically about visual perception, spatial concepts, color, and compositional structure. Individuality and creativity is encouraged, and students may choose to paint in realism, abstraction, or a combination of the two.
